How Have I Not Heard About This Album?
Unless you've been living in a cave for the last decade, you've definitely heard a song or two produced by Danger Mouse. Not familiar with the name? He's the guy behind The Grey Album which rocketed him onto the scene back in 2004. Since then he's been involved with a few acts you might have heard of. Perhaps you've heard of Gnarls Barkley, The Gorillaz, Norah Jones, and The Black Keys? Danger Mouse, aka Brian Burton has had a hand in not only production, but also in writing many tunes for these artists.
I heard a track on the radio today that I hadn't heard before and I had to know what it was. I used one of my favorite iPhone apps, Soundtracking, to ID the post and share to my social networks and before you knew it a friend told me the album was produced by Danger Mouse. Boom, I'm SOLD.
Mondo by Electric guest is full of that Danger Mouse sound you'll immediately recognize if you're a fan of any of the artists mentioned above but most notably, Gnarls Barkley and the Black Keys. I'm real picky when it comes to alternative music these days but you can put this down as a solid album in my book.
